AIA St. Louis Endorses City to River Concept

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) St. Louis chapter has announced support of the City to River concept.

From the March 12, 2010 newsletter:

AIA St. Louis recognizes the need to make the connections for which CTR advocates. We recognize the hard work and dedication of the CTR.  We applaud their efforts to promote and “exchange of ideas and information about how to continue the revitalization of downtown St. Louis through creative design and development approaches for reconnecting the riverfront, the Arch grounds and the downtown area.”

AIA St. Louis supports the CTR concept and we look forward to learning more as the CTR concept further develops as they obtain more input from the design and engineering disciplines integrated into their concept.

City to River is hosting a walking tour of Memorial Drive.

Let’s get connected! Join us on the first day of spring to discuss opportunities for reopening the front door of our city. Come and view the problems firsthand, share ideas for improvements, and learn more about connecting the city to the river.

We will begin the walking tour at Busch Stadium at the Stan Musial statue and end at the Morgan Street Brewery in Laclede’s Landing to have a drink and continue the conversation. Q&A along the way. Bring a camera, dress for the weather and wear your walking shoes.

View a map of the route.

Take Metrolink to the tour!
The tour conveniently takes place between two Metrolink stations – the Stadium station at the beginning and the Laclede’s Landing station at the end.
